Lake Aguelmame Azegza


Aguelmame Azegza (), which means " the green lake " in Berber, is a natural lake located in 30 km in the city Khénifra in Morocco. Of karstic origin, at an altitude 1474 m, enclosed and occupying a zone dépréssive a depth of 26 m, it is encircled with calcareous reliefs, covered with a forest with predominance of cedars and of oaks, its situation in full cèdraie Medium Atlasique confers on him a marvellous beauty, its area about 62ha.
The bioclimate of its region is sub-humid type in humid, the medium rainfall estimated in 1150 / year. It is rich in fish such as the pike : (fish very appreciated for the quality of its pulpit but has tendence in disparaitre for reasons of the biotope which connait a deterioration by the man : excessive peach, pollution outrages the lack of haste), in the tench, carpus, and roach. These kinds of fish summers introduced by forestry authority French at the beginning of the XXth century.
The lake knew a frightening fall of its level further to the lack of rainfall. Its emplacemnt in full cedar forest of Ajdir Ezayane gives him a prévilègiée priority to make of the lake and its region an exclusive eco-tourist site.
This lake is classified national heritage Site of Aguelmane Azigza, of set of Ajdir and of Tignelmamines.
