Lakes of the Medium Atlas

The Medium Atlas in Morocco conceals hydrologic and forested, natural potentialities varied in a humid and sub-humid context favouring the developpement of lakes, watercourses, biotopes. Chains of mountains introduce geological and morphological curiosity (caverns, sinkholes, transverse valleys, fold) (the massif of Bou Iblane and of Bou Naceur with their big green plains as that of Timahdit meadows of Azrou). Fauna and flora are rich and contain all aspects of a secret biological life. The creation of sites SIBE and national parks : (National park of Tazekka and the National park of Ifrane and sites RAMSAR) is the major préocupation of the government and of the NGO anxious about the protection of this heritage which risks disappearing one day under various pressures to be known : human dynamics, surpâturage, excessive working of the forest and finally dryness.
The Medium Atlas shelters a big area of forests of cedars and of holm oaks, of many lakes and rivers, valleys and preserved summits, a variety of bioclimatic zones which shelter a wonderful biodiversity and a wealth floristique and faunistique.
The human element of the Medium Atlas and of the culure Amazigh, composed principally of big conféderations Amazighe : Zayanes, Aît Youssi, Aît sgougou, Aît M' Guildet Beni to Me shooting, Ait Seghrouchen, the tribes of Immouzer Marmoucha etc, this éthnies manufactured by topography and living principally on animal husbandry by the game of a transhumance of medium amplitude between the jbel (summer pasture) and Azghar (winter pasture). All these ingredients give an environment very appreciated by the visitors.
The big part of the lakes of the Medium Atlas is concentrated in the aerie géograghique of corresponding Beni Mellal-Khénifra-Ifrane in medium atlassique limestone plateau.
