The blue pearl of Morocco

The blue pearl of Morocco, Saidia, is in the process of modernising so that you will soon be able to take advantage of the turquoise Mediterranean, its 14-km beach and splendid surrounding countryside.

Golden strip

A beautiful bay and, above all, 14 km of fine sand… Saidia is a new generation of resort that holds on to its Moroccan charm. Stroll under the mimosa and eucalyptus trees that line the beach, sunbathe freely and, above all, dive into the turquoise water inviting you to relax.

Dream coast road

Saïdia beach

To take the full measure of the transparency and clearness of the sea as it gently laps the coast, a walk along the coast road is highly recommended. All the families and holidaymakers go there at the end of the day, when the sand takes on a golden colour and everything becomes softer and gentler.

The call of the sea

The completely new pleasure port, which has 850 moorings, is a great place to take a stroll, even if you are not a sailor! There are schools for sailing, diving and water skiing. In the vicinity, there are restaurants, a thermal centre, shops. A whole range of varied activities and services are offered to ensure that you have an unforgettable holiday in an elegant location with modern facilities.

Urban escape

Take advantage of your trip to Saidia to visit Oujda, some sixty kilometres south of the seaside resort. The capital of eastern Morocco has a beautiful medina, whose kasbah, the old citadel, watches over a fourteenth-century Koranic school. Oujda also invites you to explore its beautiful markets. It is a dream setting to listen to Gharnatian music, a melancholic Arabo-Andalusian music.

A stroll in the city

Leave the beach for a few hours to discover Oujda's marvellous heritage. Culture, crafts, monuments, enjoy this quiet town.
Relaxation and discovery

Saïdia beach

Go and discover Oujda, 60 km to the south of Saida. An intact and picturesque medina with its souks overflowing with local craft productions and the towering fortifications of its kasbah. It is an entire world that opens its arms to you.

Enthralling history

To enter the old medina, on the eastern side, you must go through the impressive Bab Sidi Abdel Wahab gothic-style gate. It is said that the severed heads of the rebels were exhibited here. Bab El Gharbi, one of the three main gates to the medina on its west side, which takes on red hues at sunset, is of a smaller size but is quite charming. Take in the tumultuous history of this ancestral town.

Spiritual moment

Marina

The great mosque was built at the end of the 13th century and is the oldest of the medina's monuments. The three fountains set against its walls contribute to the serenity conducive to faith. To the right of the mosque's main entrance, a street leads to a masterpiece of 14th century architecture, the merinide medersa. This venerable Koranic school is considered to be the jewel of Oujda.

Palace and music

In 1938, a rich trader built a superb palace, Dar Sebti, that can be visited. It now hosts a cultural centre dedicated to Arabo-Andalusian music, referred to here as Gharnatian music. With a little luck, you may see traditional Laalaoui dances and singing...

Beach and oasis

A curiosity of the region: the Sidi Yahya oasis has retained its peaceful charm despite the extension of the town of Oujda. It is home to the tomb of a man recognised as being a saint by the three monotheistic religions. On returning to Saidia, discover the Ras El Ma beach, which is well sheltered from the wind and decorated with eucalyptus trees. It is a pleasant and endearing place.

Golf and music

Saidia has a superb 18-hole golf course that offers a splendid and relaxing view from the adjacent residences and hotels. Other greens will be added soon. To give a cultural aspect to your holiday, and develop your contact with the Moroccan identity, don't miss the regional festivals: popular arts in Saidia itself, Gharnatian or rai music in Oujda.

Natural treasures

The region of Saidia has all the advantages to stimulate the imagination and awareness of your family. Biodiversity area populated by birds on the Moulouya delta, caves inhabited by the first humans in the abundant valley of the Zegzel oasis: it is rare to find a destination that offers such a wide variety of interesting activities.
